VACATION CHECK LIST OF WHAT TO BRING

HOUSE RENTALS

• Sheets, towels, beach towels, blankets, dishcloths, dish towels
• Toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, plastic wrap, napkins
• Dishwashing soap, dishwasher & laundry detergents, bath soap

VILLA RENTALS

MESSAGES – MAIL – PHONE SERVICE – CELL PHONE SERVICE

• Emergency phone messages will be delivered to a rental property.
• If mail or a package is sent to Edisto via USPS, UPS, FEDEX, etc please address the item to:

• The item will be held at our office for pick-up during our normal business hours. Parcels cannot be delivered to rental properties.
• Most rental properties have local phone service. All calls outside the 869 exchange are long distance. It is always best to bring a calling card if you anticipate making long distance calls during your stay.
• Many homeowners are choosing to provide internet access. Please understand that due to the unique nature of our Barrier Island maintaining this access can be a challenge. Edisto Realty will not be responsible for restoring internet service in rental properties. It is strongly recommended that you bring an ethernet cable and a ‘mobile hotspot’ device especially if internet access is critical during your stay. Rental Guests are not permitted to change or set-up passwords on any provided service. No refunds will be considered due to the failure of internet service in rental properties. Community hot spots are available at several local businesses.
• Cell phone service has improved on Edisto but there are spotty areas that do not receive service.

MAKE PLANS FOR NEXT YEAR – BEFORE LEAVING EDISTO BEACH

The repeat guest is a valuable asset to both Edisto Realty and the homeowner. If you wish to rent the same property next year for the same corresponding dates, you must fill out the Advance Reservation Request form included in your Welcome Packet. Please deliver the completed form, along with payment for the Advance Reservation Fee, to our office. If you do not re-reserve the property prior to checking out, the property is available for rental on a first come, first served basis.

WHO OWNS THE RENTAL PROPERTY

• Each rental property that is managed by Edisto Realty is privately owned and reflects the owner’s personal taste in décor and furnishings. Most properties have a locked closet or area that is private for the owner’s personal use. Please respect these areas.
• As Agent’s for the Homeowner, Edisto Realty will to the best of our ability describe each rental property to reflect a true picture of a “sight unseen” property. Please refer to www.edistorealty.com to view pictures of each property.
• All information supplied in the Rental Guide, website, and other sources of information is correct at the time of publishing, but owner changes to furnishings, sleeping arrangements, or renovations can result in changes that we are unaware of. Every effort will be made to notify confirmed reservations o f these changes. Refunds will not be issued due to changes in rental properties.

BEACH ACCESS

• Edisto Beach has the best unrestricted public beach access on the coast of South Carolina. Each cross street has a public access area from Palmetto Boulevard or Point Street. Parking is allowed along both sides of Palmetto Boulevard and Point Street, just watch for driveways, yellow curbs, and fire hydrants. Several beach accesses also include off-street parking.
• Due to the constant changes of the coastline, Edisto Realty and its homeowners cannot guarantee the amount of dry sand at any one location during high tide. Nor can Edisto Realty or its homeowners be responsible for beach access from a beach or sound front home (including but not limited to stairs, walkways, paths, etc.).

TOWN OF EDISTO BEACH

The Town of Edisto Beach offers many features to make everyone’s visit to the beach a success:
Free (bring your own container) “good” drinking water
Bike Path
Jungle Road Park including a small playground and a short walking trail
Police, fire and EMS service (dial 911)
Seasonal beach patrol
Trash receptacles at each Beach Access
Re-cycle Center at Town Refuse Station next to Town Hall

But there are some restrictions (for more information call 843-869-2505):
Seasonal Leash Law
No Fireworks
No outdoor burning
No glass containers on the beach
No driving or parking of motor vehicles on the Beach or Bike Path
Golf Cart Restrictions

DIRECTIONS TO EDISTO BEACH

TRAVELING SOUTH TOWARDS WALTERBORO, SC

• Travel on I-95 to Walterboro Exit #57. Turn left on Bells Highway. Left on Robertson Blvd. Left on Charleston Hwy (Hwy 64). ****DO NOT TURN ON HWY 17A**** Follow Hwy 64 approximately 15 miles and in Jacksonboro, merge onto Hwy 17 North (towards Charleston). Continue on Hwy 17 North approximately 10 miles and turn right on Hwy 174. Follow signs to Edisto Beach.

TRAVELING FROM CHARLESTON, SC

• If traveling east on I-26 towards Charleston, exit on I-526 towards Savannah. At end of I-526 turn right on Hwy 17 (South). Travel approximately 20 miles on Hwy 17 South. Turn left on Hwy 174 and follow signs to Edisto Beach.
• If traveling south on Hwy 17, continue through Charleston on Hwy 17 South. Travel approximately 20 miles south of Charleston and turn left on Hwy 174. Follow signs to Edisto Beach.

TRAVELING NORTH FROM SAVANNAH, GA

• Travel on I-95 North to Hwy 17 North exit (Exit 33-Point South/Beaufort/Charleston). Travel on Hwy 17 North approximately 40 miles. Turn right on Hwy 174. Follow signs to Edisto Beach.
