Chamber Music Charleston Returns to Edisto Island
Chamber Music Charleston returns to the Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island (2164 Highway 174, Edisto) on Sunday, October 15 at 3pm with an innovative program of music for string quartet.
Violinists Jenny Weiss and Tomas Jakubek, violist Ben Weiss and cellist Timothy O’Malley will perform Mozart’s masterful String Quartet No. 19 in C Major, nicknamed the “Dissonance” String Quartet. This work will be performed alongside a selection of works by The Beatles and an innovative arrangement of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven.”
Embarking on their 11th season, Chamber Music Charleston has garnered praise throughout the Lowcountry and beyond. In May of this year they presented a triumphant return to Carnegie Hall, and in May of 2018 they will perform their first international concert at the Música en Segura Festival in Spain.
While the majority of their performances take place in Charleston, they are excited to present two programs on Edisto Island for the 2017-2018 season. In addition to the October performance, the ensemble will return on Sunday, February 4 with a program of music for flute and strings.
